Good morning puppy pals! And good morning to all my other animal and non-fur friends too! I hope you’re all having a spectacular week.

I didn’t get to check in with you last week but that was partially because I was too busy playing with this crazy new toy mom bought. She calls it the rock-o-dile cause it’s apparently supposed to be some sort of crocodile creature – but he’s blue with a mohawk and a silver guitar. And he plays guitar solos. I have a feeling mom was still on a Guitar Hero band high when she ordered this guy and I have to admit that he kinda freaks me out.

The problem lies in the noises he makes. The guitar sound is really high pitched and I don’t really like it. If I accidentally turn him on while he’s in my mouth, onto the ground he goes until he’s done with his solo. I don’t want to steal his guitar thunder from him, and there’s no telling what he might do if he keeps playing while inside my mouth.

Speaking of toys, one of the most amazing things happened to me over the weekend. I was out walking with the fam and I came across a big blue squeaky ball that I lost almost a year ago. Sometimes I insist on taking toys with me on the walks, but then I set them down somewhere and forget I brought them along. They get picked up my other dogs, or kids, or just disappear in the grass. But this guy was sitting right in the middle of the sidewalk like he was just waiting for me. It was like finding a huge bowl of fresh liver treats or something. I actually requested that the walk end early so that I could rush the ball back home and make sure he had not been harmed while he was living on the streets. He looks exactly the same as when I last say him but he’s not telling me anything about where he’s been. I hope he wasn’t being abused or something!

I don’t know what the weather has been like where you are, but here we’ve had a pretty nice summer. Some days have been way hotter than I would have liked, but the last few days have been rather lovely, especially in the morning. But my coat is telling me that fall is approaching because I am shedding like never before. The fur coming off of me in little clumps looks like tiny squirrel mohawk toupees littering the floor. Mom is constantly tugging on the loose patches, pulling big clumps of fur from me. She finally pulled out the brush yesterday and started grooming me too. Unfortunately we haven’t gotten much one on one time to really get the dead fur out, though, cause it seems like the baby is always awake these days…and at night, I need my beauty rest. What’s a dog to do?

So friends, it’s time for us to hit the pavement and go for our morning walk. I hope you find something exciting to play with on your own walks today – maybe even something you lost once that you thought was gone forever!

Ay;a big stick

Happy trails and sloppy wet kisses!
