Hi! I’m Tiffany and I’m new to WWIW, “Real Momma, Real Style” and fashion sharing link-ups in general. I’ve never really been one to follow trends or try to fit in with a crowd. And I tend to gravitate toward things that are classic, functional and long-lasting. Part of the reason is that those are just the clothes I like. The other part is that I hate shopping in Germany (where I’m currently living), so that kind of puts a big damper on exploring my fashion style.
At any rate, I’m excited to be starting this new part of self-exploration and look forward to what will develop. I work from home, so most of my daily wear is more functional than anything else. Jeans and long-sleeved shirts are my current M.O.
I’ve only got one example outfit to show today, but it’s a shirt I picked up for $6 and didn’t even try on. I just figured it would work under sweaters and such to keep me warm in the winter. Little did I know that it would totally love me…now I wish I’d gotten another. π
Heart shirt- Arizona Jeans at JC Penney.
Decree boot cut jeans (JC Penney).
Belt from some random little boutique in Hanau (the first time ever that I’ve worn a belt with jeans. I am just not a belt person. But I bought these jeans just a a tad too big apparently. If anyone has suggestions for cute belts, I’m all ears!)
My new leather arm cuff which I had my name put on (only because the service was free.) I actually bought this at SeaWorld Orlando for $10 and it’s a tiny bit big but I love it. And it works well with my collection of bracelets littering my arms.
Unfortunately this look is not very well suited for the cold weather of Germany when you have about 10 layers of clothing on. It’s WAY better suited to Florida (where we just spent two weeks over Christmas) so I think we’re going to have to move. But I picked up these bracelets for $2.99 each at a beach store.
My new funky China Glaze nail polish in Icicle. This is by far the coolest silver nail polish I’ve ever bought — and I have bought many. A great find at Sally Beauty Supply for 50% off.
And finally, my beloved Etnies red suede sneakers. I wear these shoes all the time…which is why they are a bit dirty here. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. And I picked them up for only $15 at a skate shop in Naples that was liquidating their shoe collection.
So now you have a bit of a glimpse into who I am style-wise. Jeans are a staple in my wardrobe but I don’t think that means you have to look frumpy or boring in them all the time. I admire those women who have incredible style and can throw an outfit together with virtually nothing…but I don’t think I’m one of those people…yet. I LOVE shopping for bargains and was so glad to be back in the US for a while, seeking out bargains at the post-Christmas sales and at Ross. I have missed discount shopping because in Germany, discount places usually mean poor quality. And the outlet malls still mean high prices!
