There’s nothing profound or special for me to say today…no new projects or anything like that. And the reason is a little book called Twilight (Book 1). I made the mistake of starting it on Monday night while I was laying in bed and I have barely put it down since. I read almost nonstop the last two days..feeling guilty the whole while because I should have been working, but I just couldn’t help myself. Twilight
is captivating, to say the least. I know it’s a bit of a teenie sort of book, but I loved Harry Potter too. Just let me cling to my youth – it’s my choice. ๐
It’s the story of a girl named Bella who moves back to a small town and falls madly, deeply in love with a boy named Edward. He happens to be a vampire but no worries, he’s trying to be a good one, only feeding on animals – not humans. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to, he just restrains himself. Edward also happens to be Bella’s hero, saving her from death several times in just the first book. No, I haven’t moved on to New Moon yet but I won’t be letting myself get sucked in by it for a while longer. Or so I tell myself at the moment.
Twilight is a book filled with passion, suspense and temptations. In the last few chapters I was just devouring every page, reading as fast as I possibly could. I would suggest that if you want to start reading the saga you do it on vacation or when you really have nothing that will be required of you. During a blizzard perhaps? I seriously was carrying the book everywhere when I didn’t have Mack on my arm. Too complicated to walk with her AND read – injury to one or both of us would be almost certain.
I’m looking forward to starting New Moon although I’ve been told it’s not that great. But apparently things get back on track in book 3. At least now when people talk about Twilight, Bella & Edward, I won’t be completely in the dark. ๐ And thanks to Katie who sent me the books and Nadine who raved about them just a few days ago – which is what finally triggered me diving in.

I know whatยดs that like. Not from me, but from Steffi.

Boerd
lol. I did the same. I came home with the book and thought it would be a little light reading. I started it that evening, barely slept that night and then lost half the next day.
I would have started New Moon that minute, but we have a rule about only buying 2nd hand books, my husband called all the second hand bookstores around us and they all said the same – the whole series is like gold-dust!
We have New Moon already thanks to a wonderful friend of mine who is addicted to the books…but I STILL haven’t read it. I’m not prepared to commit the time I’ll lose to starting it just yet. WAY too much going on.
My husband actually read them both while in the hospital and is dying to read the others (yeah, I was pretty shocked that he liked them too lol) but our care package with the others hasn’t arrived yet. Saw the movie recently which wasn’t nearly as good – but they rarely are.
