Hey dogs!
Well, it’s official – I can drink alcohol as of today! WOOHOO! Oh wait, I’m a dog and they still won’t serve me in a bar. Then again, look how awesomely cute I am – of course they’ll serve me! But hopefully I won’t get as torn up as I was in this picture! YIKES!
Just kidding. Alcohol isn’t good for dogs – or so I’m told. But today is my burpday (or maybe you prefer the term birthday?) Yes folks, it’s true. I’m turning three – which is 21 in dog years. Rock on!
As I look to the year ahead, I want to do a few things. I need to spend more time eating snow. I scoop up as much of it as I can when it’s on the ground, but it’s never enough. I don’t know why the humans can’t get a machine that makes this stuff for me year round. During the summer – HEAVEN!
I also plan to take better care of my humans. Here I was helping nurse daddy back to health. It’s really a hard job and requires great dedication, but someone’s got to do it. Newfies make awesome nurses so it’s like I was born for this!
But I will also make certain to take time for myself. Lots of naps after wild romps through the courtyard and beauty sleep after a hard day of keeping the family entertained are a must. This way I can stay youthful and come up with lots of new ways to make everyone laugh.
Oh, and if you’re wondering about presents…Mom put them in a big paper bag and I got to fish them out. I was so excited I didn’t know which one to take out first!
I got this cool new squid thing that rocks. It’s got a squeaker hidden deep inside it and is really tough nylon material. I played tug of war with dad and it didn’t budge. Mom also found me another ball on a rope that I can throw around and chase. The yellow porcupine thing is a little squeaky thing. He’s good fun too. I spent a lot of time outside getting to know them…until mom finished dinner and gave me an animal hoof filled with some sort of yumminess.
Mom also baked for me. Today. I’m not totally sold on the peanut butter and banana cookies yet, but they’re pretty good I guess. She’s going to share the recipe and maybe even a little video of the first time I tried them….Mom and dad both tried them. They said they thought they were pretty good for dog biscuits. 🙂
I’ve got to run and work on that hoof some more. I’m a bit tired from running around the courtyard all evening playing with all my new friends. I hope you’re all having a Newf-tastic day! 🙂
