It’s been raining since Sunday and unfortunately this is likely how it will be the rest of the year and most of the winter here in Germany. Never fun and certainly not nice to look at or be out in but I know it’s worse in other places so I won’t complain too much. I just got spoiled living in places like Miami where it’s still 90 degrees outside in December lol.
Yesterday was a particularly gross day. It barely stopped drizzling all day and was so dark that it almost seemed like night out there. Apparently Ayla was not thrilled with the weather either because she refused to go for a walk in the morning.
We still haven’t remedied her spastic walk down the main street from our house, with her tugging and jumping and whatever else she can think of during this time. So yesterday morning, we left for the walk and it was lightly raining. We got about halfway down the street and she was acting like such an idiot that I decided we would turn around and try the walk again in 15 minutes…my attempt to train her that this kind of behavior is not acceptable although I know this is sort of avoiding the problem and perhaps not communicated well to her.
After about 15 minutes, I put her on the leash again and she was barely out the front door when she starting acting crazy again. So I brought her back in the house and she went to take a nap. Apparently she wasn’t interested to walk in the rain either which was absolutely fine with me. I thought she might “ask” later in the day to go walk but she never did.
At the moment, Ayla is running laps from the living room to the dining room, a plush squeaky ball in her mouth and as fast as she can. Hopefully this spurt of energy will end before she runs into something or pulls something down. At least her feet are not so dirty today which will at least allow me to focus on other things besides cleaning up after her today.
We’ll be sleeping at the new house tonight since we have a kitchen planner coming over. Not sure if he’ll be giving us anything useful but at least it’s a free service. 😉 it’s been several weeks since we were last there so I’m sure Ayla will enjoy being able to play in the courtyard again and I know we’re looking forward to it as well.
