Spring. It’s by far one of my favorite times of year.
This spring we’ve had a strange spring. It went from really warm and sunny to cold (and even freezing over Easter, with almost all of Germany getting a little dusting of snow). Then it was cold again for a few weeks. And now we’ve gone from chilly to summer-like overnight. Not that I’m complaining. I’m definitely a fan of blue skies, temps in the mid- to upper-80’s and being able to go outside in flip flops and t-shirts. That for me is spring.
Spring is also full of flowers and magical moments. Everything is buzzing, chirping, blooming and growing — and it’s just a happy time of year.
The flowers around us are in full growth. Most of the trees are budding, having shed their blossoms a couple weeks ago. And it’s time to really get serious now about putting things in the garden.
Our strawberries are blooming already, too, and I look forward to Mack stealing them all before we ever get a chance to try one.
We also got really lucky with the weather this past weekend while there happened to be a bouncy castle playground in town. Nothing says spring like tank tops and skirts — not to mention “springing” all over the place & jumping until you can’t walk anymore.
Blowing dandelion seeds are a bit part of spring for us now…
as well as picking them, making dandelion cookies & other treats, and watching out for our winged friends!

My favorite spring flower, the peony, made its appearance a few weeks ahead of schedule this year, presumably because of our ultra mild winter here in Tennessee. They smell just as good as they look.
I don’t know what it is about bubble blowing and dandelion blowing that seem to scream spring to me! I love both of those shots and the strawberry blossom shot is great, too!
When it’s spring, that’s my favorite season. When it’s fall, it’s my favorite. I love the transition times. I think I love spring so much because where I live (Pacific NW), warm and sunny days are rare in spring–so we are all so grateful and happy when they come. In summer, we expect them and get miffed if they don’t show up. But in spring, I get so much pleasure from a few rays of sun. Love your pictures. Yes to sundresses and flip flops and dandelion wishes, for sure.
What is with all the great shots of weeds…its making me rethink pulling all of them….lol JK but the dandylion shots are great!
