Since Stefan got “gardening leave” last week, we have been on a non-stop whirlwind of knocking projects around the farm off our to do list before we move to Berlin. In his industry, “gardening leave” is the norm — and it usually ranges from 4 to 12 weeks…but some companies you get up to a year of paid leave before you’re allowed to start at your new company. It’s a way for the company he’s leaving to try to cut his ties with the customers and companies he covers, so that they can get a competitive edge. It usually doesn’t happen like that, but we still have enjoyed all the extra vacation he’s gotten over the years when he moved from one company to another.
The You Capture theme this week was “something you did” — and we’ve certainly done a ton of things in the last few days. But very little of it did we actually capture in person. It was a lot more like wake up, have breakfast, start painting doors around the farm. And until recently, I never really gave much thought to the number of doors we have around here — but there are a LOT of them. In fact, we’ve painted 14 doors, an 18 foot high barn gate, and our 10 foot wide front gate. Amazingly enough, we had enough paint scattered around the farm to complete this project. Why we waited so long to do this is really anyone’s guess.
Thankfully, Mack has been a total trooper through it all! And Ayla seems to be getting more confused every day about what is happening. 🙂
We always manage to get few good laughs about Ayla and her silly antics. The other day, she went to town on some sticks we had in the courtyard. It was quite amusing.
What have you been doing lately?
Oh what a cute dog! I wish we were being that productive around our house good for you. I can barely keep up with the cleaning…
Found you on You Capture
