It’s kinda funny. I’ve been joining in and linking up to You Capture for more than two years — and there have been several occasions when I just wasn’t really sure I was going to have something to contribute for the week. And then I glanced at the topic and realized I could probably put something together in a few minutes time. And before I knew it, I had a whole series of photos.
As with any photography session, some turn out better than others — but the one thing that is really fun about shooting a totally random subject is that it forces you to take a closer at look at certain things that you might not otherwise notice on a daily basis…
And makes sure that you pay more attention to the things that you do notice and document them down. Like the fact that Mackenzie is actually able to trace shapes on a piece of paper and mostly follow the lines to cut those objects out. Granted she’s using the scissors upside down in her right hand (she does most things with her left) but hey, she’s getting the job done.
Sometimes you have just what you need laying around the house, waiting to have be photographed, like the shapes that Mackenzie made with her Oma last week…
Or these super fun magnetic shapes that are a great travel game…until you lose a few of the magnets between the car seats and have to go dig them out. 🙂
What are the shapes you see every day but sometimes fail to notice? Or the ones that you are especially keen on seeing, no matter how often that may be?
Great captures! Love your shoes 🙂
I wasn’t sure what I was going to do for this one. Kids are perfect for finding all kinds of fun shapes. I love first shot.
Kids definitely made this challenge easier — but really, there are all sorts of shapes everywhere. I apparently just shouldn’t have been so narrow minded with my shapes 🙂
Nice shapes!
