There was a high chance of rain in the forecast today so we decided to try out Jake’s chairs finally and use it as a sort of test project. We have big plans to construct the bedroom furniture in our guest house so we wanted to start with something not so huge to see if we are in way over our heads or not. So this morning we hit the home improvement store and picked up a table saw and scroll saw to make the process a little easier. Well the scroll saw wasn’t really necessary but we did use it to make a template for some of the pieces of the chair…and we’ve seen lots of really cool projects online we can make with one.
While at the store, we also picked up the wood for the project and a few more things I’ll need to finally strip down a hutch we have in the barn that I want to refinish and move into the kitchen. It seems we’ll be making another trip to Hornbach soon because we saw they have a really nice laminate on sale for €5.99/sq. meter that would look great in the guest house. We also found a glass door in their new huge sale flier that will work great in the bathroom/bedroom wall.
Anyway, back to the toys. We only have a photo of the table saw at the moment because after we finished using the scroll saw I was tired and forgot I even had the camera. We haven’t gotten to use the table saw much yet but when we finally have time to continue the chairs, we’ll definitely will…
