“How we live our days , of course, is how we live our lives.” — Annie Dillard

Do you ever feel like a hamster on a wheel, trying to get 1,000 tasks done in a day, knowing it’s impossible but somehow feeling like it’s all important and necessary for your life to keep going? Do you end the day feeling like you’ve accomplished little or nothing, despite the fact that you’ve been going non-stop? Do you sometimes even wonder just what it was you were doing all day and why you can’t seem to fit enough into the day?

It’s time to put an end to the madness and learn how to manage your time better. And that all starts by refocusing your thoughts and goals so you make sure you have time for what is truly important…and either forget about the other stuff, allocate the task to someone else or make time to get it done.

Amy Lynn Andrews has written a fabulous book called Tell Your Time. It’s brilliantly simple so that you can sit down, read it, take action and start achieving results. The first half of the ebook is written to help you understand yourself better, focus on what it is you want to achieve and give you a few guidelines for success. Then Amy Lynn helps you dig deep into your inner self to plan out your schedule for success.

I am almost ashamed to admit that it took me a couple of weeks to actually start the action plan. I read the first part through quickly and didn’t even realize just how close I was to the action steps before being pulled away. This compact ebook really opened my eyes about what I value in my life, what I absolutely need to be getting done on a daily and weekly basis, helped me to prioritize my values and goals and actually raised some serious questions for me about how I end up spending my days. In four simple steps (and just an hour or so of your time), you will seriously be able to plan out a realistic, practical schedule for your day-to-day life so that you can lead a fulfilled life.

As a work-at-home-mom to a toddler, it’s certainly not easy to get everything accomplished during the day that you’d like. While I’m writing this, she is seriously dismantling the drawers of my desk, pulling everything out which will leave all the drawers in disarray yet again. On one hand, she’s staying amused so I can finish writing this. Plus she really seems to be having fun. I know I will have to fit in some time to go through the drawers and put them back together again —  but hey, that’s a good time to declutter, right? And thus go my days, checking on her every 5 minutes to see what she is doing, refilling her water glass for painting and so on. Not that I’m complaining — I’m going to miss her like crazy when she starts preschool; but knowing how to best structure my days so I can actually accomplish something is crucial to me right now.

Amy Lynn has also put together some absolutely fantastic resource printables which accompany this ebook and will help you take the four simple steps needed to get your life back on track for success. I’m now looking forward to translating her schedule into an Excel file so I can keep it handy, print it out each week when I’ve got my tasks all lined up and really be able to have a good understand of what lies ahead each week. This ebook really could have a wildly profound effect on my life.
