Ok, this isn’t quite as serious as the title might suggest, but yesterday there was a bit of a duel between Ayla and myself. It appears that she thinks that the daddy belongs to her. We’ve noticed that when we hugged, she would immediately attempt to join in and jump up on us. We just figured she wanted to be included in the love. But yesterday S (hubby) and I were sitting on the front steps of our house together. I moved into his lap and Ayla immediately came over and started licking him and otherwise try to join in. I think this is when it started to set in that she is trying to challenge me for him. So we had to put an end to that. I’m still the alpha female in this house.

Ayla did a lot of gnawing on me and even a little standing on S’s shoulders…but in the end I think we got our point across. We will have to do some testing later today or tomorrow and we’ll let you know. In the meantime, we’re looking into dog scootering…which we will be sure to tell you more about later.
