I had a lot of fun coming up with “fresh” things to find and photograph this week, and ended up with a few shots that I didn’t even expect. In fact, when I read this You Capture challenge, I didn’t have a clue what to photograph. So I have a feeling this will be another one of those weeks where you see lots of different interpretations.

First, the lovely fresh flowers that my hubby and daughter brought for me on Saturday to wish me a happy birthday! The sunlight through the window really made them soft looking.

And the freshly pressed juices from Riesling grapes, as we attempt our first batch of white wine.

And the end of the balloon of fresh red wine that we filtered this weekend, was this image. I didn’t notice until I was editing it that I captured the reflection of the pavers too.

As you can tell, it was a weekend filled making wine, but very little drinking of it. We’ll make up for that this weekend while Stefan’s parents are here. And I’ll be sharing some details about our wine making adventures in the coming weeks!

A perfect spider web after a fresh dose of rain. Been wanting to take a shot like this for a while, but never found a good one. This shot came out better than expected.

A bunch of fresh carrots — the new favorite food of Mackenzie. But only raw. Cooked carrots shall not touch her mouth. (Her choice, not mine.)

The light on the carrots was so great, that I had to share two shots of them. No editing or anything. Remember folks, whenever you want to photograph food (or just about anything else) either take it outside to the natural light (it was fairly overcast today which is better than direct sunlight) or near the window.

This week, Beth should be back on board, so be sure to hop over to I Should Be Folding Laundry and see what everyone else is capturing. And find out how you can join in the fun yourself.
