I need to distract myself in order to not vent yet again on the stupidity of people as I try to deal with some issues for our website, so I am going to write about the super cool catalog we got yesterday in the mail with baby & kid stuff in it. Otherwise I might be so wound up by the time the next “real” support person gets in the office that I’m just going to reach through the phone and strangle them as soon as they answer – or I will break down into a ball of goo and cry my eyes out at them in complete and utter frustration because they are all just so stupid and seem to be trying to make everything as complicated as possible lately!
A week or so ago, I came across a company called Jako-O and, after glancing at their website, decided to order a catalog. Although I adore shopping online and would probably never call a company to place an order, I also often like to just browse through catalogs instead of websites…probably because a lot of these companies have no idea what is “shoppable” – but that’s another story.
So I ordered a free catalog and it got here yesterday. First, let me comment that they sent not 1 but 3 catalogs. One with just baby stuff in it (but only a small sampling of their baby stuff) and 2 of their current Fall/Winter catalogs. Why they felt we needed all of these when they all have the same merchandise in them, I don’t know. But they sure aren’t doing their part to save any trees!
That negative aside, this place has such cool toys! They carry clothes as well but who really wants to spend €40 for one baby outfit…that they might be able to wear for 3 months?? No thanks – I’ll keep shopping Old Navy whenever we’re in the U.S., thank you very much! But the toys are lots of classics that are sadly becoming hard to find in stores here…probably because kids only want things related to the TV or video games, a sad development to say the least. For example, they have sets to make your own aprons & clothing shopping bags, books and toys about nature and catching bugs, puppets a& theaters, learning books and lots of neat learning toys for kids of all ages as well. The prices on the accessories are definitely reasonable although I haven’t shopped around online much…and with over 530 pages of stuff, you and your kids are bound to find something you just must have. I think Stefan is already planning his Christmas wish list for this year. We were already joking that Mackenzie is going to be fighting us for the toys when she gets older. This stuff is just too cool to let her keep it to herself!
