When we took Ayla for a walk this morning, we grabbed a couple of Tupperware containers and carrying bags so we could raid the blackberry bushes near our standard walking area. We picked for about 30 minutes I guess, canvasing a pretty large area of berry bushes and felt a bit disappointed with the results because it didn’t look like much. But I suggested we take an alternative route home and we found another area that is smaller but has much nicer berries so we’re going to give that a try this evening. It was getting pretty warm already this morning and Ayla was ready to get home (us too really.)
As it turns out, we picked 11.5 ounces (326 grams) of blackberries. Not all that bad really. I’ve already washed them and they’re in the freezer. Not sure what we’ll do with them yet but I’m sure we’ll end up with some tasty idea. 🙂
