After a few weeks without YouCapture, I’m really looking forward to being back in the game. Our challenge this week was to put up our top 10 shots of 2011, and I kinda love doing this because I tend to forget how many cool things I’ve shot and the things we’ve done over the past year.
Picking my favorite shots is not always easy, so I just sorta grab the first 10 that I really like — otherwise this process would take me a few days. 😉
By the way, I have decided to move my weekly You Capture posts to a new blog, which is also where I will be posting a lot more about me personally, blogging, photography, married life and things like that. It should be going live next week. I just don’t really feel like they have a place here on NOH and this blog already covers so many topics that throwing more in the hodge podge doesn’t seem practical. NOH will remain just as active as it is now and will continue to focus on expat life, recipes, gardening, home renovation and other sustainable living stuff.
And with no further ado, here are my favorite shots of 2011, more or less in the order I shot them (most recent first)…
The splashing monster. It’s photos like these that really make me appreciate all that my Tamron lens has to offer!
And I really like a lot of shots I did in the “pretty” category…but this is probably my favorite because of the perspective and the rustiness of it.
Are you looking for a photographic challenge that you can fit into a busy schedule? Head over to I Should Be Folding Laundry and find out what the next You Capture topic is. It’s really fun and easy to participate — and I’m pretty sure your photography skills will grow quite a bit in the process!
Beautiful shots (and yes, several of my favorites DID make it into your list!) – I miss doing You Capture, but I just don’t want to force it. Maybe in 2012 I’ll join up again from time to time without feeling like I have to do it every week.
As for your new blog…I can’t wait to see it! 🙂
Your “splashing monster” photo is fun fun fun! But my fav here is the one with the kite… the look of sheer joy on that face, the diagonal the kite cuts through the image and the energy of the kid in contrast to the quiet observers in the background. Nice job!
That first one is so cute! And I really like the carrots for some reason. Happy New Year! 🙂
Beautiful shots! “Splashing Monster” is my favorite!
