Hi friends!
Mom has totally been slacking when it comes to posting recipes so I’m going to help her out with the dog biscuit recipe she tried for my birthday. I have to admit that I would have been a lot happier with them if they’d had liver or something like that in them, but they were ok anyway. Perhaps she can leave them in the oven a bit longer next time and get them crunchier – cause I think crunchy is SO much better.
She made the cookies heart shaped, isn’t that sweet? I mean they were ok, don’t get me wrong. I eat them and sometimes even drool for them. But I think she’s made a whole lot of other things lately that would have really gotten the saliva flowing.
Mom says baking for your dog is almost the same as baking for your family. The ingredients might be a little bit different at times but it doesn’t take any special effort. I hear that liver treats are incredibly easy to make…perhaps someone wants to drop off some liver at our house for my mom to try it out? Oh pretty please? 😉
The recipe is below. Hope you enjoy the cookies too. Do you have any favorite doggie treat recipes to share too?
Lots of sloppy Newfie kisses,
Ayla

- Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
- Stir together the egg, peanut butter, banana, and honey in a medium bowl; blend thoroughly. Stir in the flour and oats; mix well. Stir in milk until the dough begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl.
- Turn dough out onto a floured board and roll to 1/4 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes with a cookie cutter, place on prepared baking sheet, and brush tops with egg white.
- Bake biscuits in preheated oven until dried and golden brown, about 40 minutes, depending on size. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.
