I’m finally starting to get back into my work groove even though Stefan is still on vacation. It’s usually not that easy for me, but somehow now that he’s been on vacation over a week and the holiday chaos is behind us, I’m ready for work to resume. And I certainly have plenty in store for myself for 2011. But more about that another time.
This week’s you capture subject was holiday favorites — which gives me a great reason to share a few shots that I haven’t managed to squeeze in anywhere else.
I learned how to make a custom shaped bokeh before Christmas so I could hardly wait to get the lights up on the tree. I only have a few scrap booking punches but one of them happens to be Santa…so that’s what I tried out. I’ve only played with it a little considering all that was going on around here…but I can’t wait to find more excuses to use this sort of effect in the future!
A new favorite in our house is homemade pasta. Stefan and I were lucky enough to get new pasta maker attachments for the KitchenAid and we’ve made fresh pasta twice in 3 days. It is fantastic. Definitely going to be getting a lot more use from my KitchenAid now!
We had a white Christmas here this year. It was the first time we had snow over Christmas since we’ve lived here…and it was gorgeous. It’s only about a foot of snow but most of it is still here and we have enjoyed some really nice walks in the snow over the last few weeks. Sometimes having a dog and being forced to go out into the elements every day is totally worth it.

That fresh pasta looks beyond yummy! I have a pasta maker in a kitchen cabinet that is 11 years old and has never been out of the box. {sigh} Now with the low-carb diet though, I’m not sure it ever will be – unless I can learn to make low-carb noodles! ๐ Happy New Year!!
We actually bought an Italian Pastamatic machine a few years ago but just hated using it. Took forever to make pasta and was SO loud. I’m going to do a full review of it one day before I put it on ebay…but the attachments for the KitchenAid take pasta making to a whole other level. So quick and easy. We would definitely never survive a low carb diet lol…BIG fans of all things pasta! ๐
WOW! Nice! Love your santa bokeh, I just recently tried that too with heart shaped bokeh..and we had our first white christmas in years too! It was such a treat!
Tiffany! Gorgeous! Thanks for stopping by today. Always enjoy catching up with everyone each week.
The santa bokeh is awesome!
That bokeh shot is so cute! I have seen many, MANY shapes this year, but never Santa. How fun! And Mmmmm that pasta looks delish!
The snow picture is captivating!
I’ve always thought it would be fun to make my own pasta! Yours looks amazing. Yum!
