I think I have a new favorite TV chef. I used to be a big Jamie Oliver fan and still like his carefree style of cooking…but this weekend we saw Robert Rainford’s show License to Grill and I am now a devoted fan.

He’s got quick and easy techniques and doesn’t try to make cooking complicated. And to top it off he has an incredible outdoor kitchen. I know he’s got his own cooking show so he probably doesn’t have something quite that elaborate at home at all times…but I can see how some people need two huge gas grills as once. For parties there really is a need for that. He also has a great counter space and even a refrigerator outside which has now got us thinking about whether we want to build a seating area in our covered patio area or an outdoor kitchen…but thankfully that project can wait so we have some time to debate and figure out what we’d get the most use out of. We also have to consider what the dog will be able to terrorize the most…

But back to Robert Rainford. The episode we saw was called United Way BBQ and he prepared a few recipes which seemed incredible. So I have assembled most of them here thanks to the help of the Internet and look forward to trying them out…along with many others!! Food Network Canada has over 500 of his recipes…we better start cooking 🙂
