We had a great vet living at our old house. She was about 20-30 minutes drive which I didn’t consider to be a bit deal and the sister of one of Stefan’s colleagues. But now that drive is at least 45 minutes and since it’s warming up very quickly in the late morning and into the afternoon, I don’t really want to take Ayla over there. She is a wonderful vet but if we can find someone local it would really be better since we are ideally going to stay here for a while and would like to find someone we can trust.
Another colleague of Stefan’s recommended that we try her vet who is a bit quirky and likes to take a holistic approach to things (not something I would argue with there) but supposedly very good. Unfortunately I wanted to take the dog in today and that is going to be a problem considering that vet is only open for one hour in the mornings (except Tuesdays) and two hours in the afternoon (except Wednesdays).
So I am going to try out a new place altogether. They have open hours from 3-6pm which will fit into my schedule fine. I’m just hoping there aren’t too many other people there so we don’t have to sit in a hot room for a while. Not really such a good thing for the Newf.
Why the need to go now? It’s time for a vaccination booster, which is also part of the reason we are not so concerned about who does them…but we are definitely going to have to find a reliable vet at some point…and perhaps one that works more than 3 hours a day…
