This weekend was another big weekend for Ayla. On Friday we went down to Bavaria to spend the weekend with Stefan’s parents. His grandmother celebrated her 80th birthday on Saturday night which meant Ayla would have another chance to prove to them that she is indeed crazy. But as she often does when we really need her to behave, she was the perfect lady. She didn’t jump on anyone, didn’t break anything all weekend (which is rather major since hubby’s parent’s house isn’t exactly puppy-proof) and didn’t even make a major ordeal about sleeping in our bedroom with us (a luxury that usually gets her so excited that she just goes crazy at bedtime). It would indeed seem that our little girl is growing up.

Our breeders told us when they were here recently that Ayla’s fur-mommy, Josie, drove them crazy until the day she turned two. But from that moment on, she became a lady and apparently has never looked back. She is an incredibly sweet and loving dog and very good natured…much like Ayla now but without the attacks of craziness. While we certainly don’t mind Ayla’s wild antics and she brings us many, many moments of laughter and enjoyment, it will be nice when we don’t have to feel quite so worried every time we take her in public. We just never know what it going to happen.

Recently when we were on vacation in Locarno, Switzerland, Ayla was not always so perfect. But she also didn’t get to enjoy freedoms like running off leash and had to do a lot of car riding. Over the weekend, we made sure to wear her out before the party on Saturday so she wouldn’t have the energy to come up with any crazy schemes. And thankfully it cooled down in the evening so we were able to let her sleep in the Defender for a while. She may not have found this to be the optimal situation but it was very loud and hot in the restaurant where the party was held and we think this was much more comfortable for her.

At one point during the night, Stefan went out to the truck to check on her and there were a group of teenagers standing around it with their noses pressed against the windows. Ayla was just sitting there looking at them and enjoying the love and admiration. 🙂 Whoever thinks she doesn’t have a fan club is absolutely mistaken lol
