A few weeks ago, I learned about something I thought was really interesting that was going on in the blogosphere: apparently it’s become really common for bloggers to get rid of some of their stuff by giving it away to their readers. Even the Pioneer Woman is doing it which somehow gave me more confidence that I can pull off something like this too. Not that I have anywhere close to her power and influence — but that’s good news for you because it means you don’t have to compete against 4,000 other people to get a chance at the stuff I’m getting rid of.

When we bought our farm, it was full of stuff and we threw away tons of things. But over the last 4 years, we’ve added a bunch of new stuff. And it just constantly grows and multiplies. Some things we bought because we just knew we would need it…some things just sort of wandered into our house…and at the moment there are a whole lot of things in the form of clothing that are just piling up to the ceiling.

One of my missions over the next 6-12 months is to start putting more of our stuff on ebay (whether we do it personally or through a selling agent which certainly does seem like a good idea most of the time), have a farm sale or just give it away.

If you have children, you know how quickly you amass clothing and toys…so that’s where I’m going to be starting. Mackenzie has received some of the most wonderful clothes from our friends and families…and many of them were hand-me-downs from them. So the things that have rarely been worn and are still in perfect condition will be appearing on No Ordinary Homestead in the coming days/weeks/months and will be up for grabs.

All you need to do if you like something and would love to have it is to leave a comment. I’m willing to send the packages anywhere in the world so whether you’re in America, Germany, Australia or Abu Dhabi, you are welcome to participate.

I will write a post about each item (or maybe even a group of items) that I’m giving away and you just need to leave a quick comment to let me know you want it. Please DON’T leave your address in the comments. I’ll pick one person who responds at random and then mail out your package the next day!

Are you ready? The fun will start on Thursday.

Guess that means I better get upstairs and start sorting through the 3 enormous boxes of baby clothes that Mack has already outgrown!
