Apparently I’ve never mentioned him before, but Ayla has a stuffed blue and orange elephant toy from IKEA that she really loves. We love buying toys for her there because they’re cheaper than dog toys but safe for babies and therefore dogs…and just super cute.
I drove hubby to work this morning because he’s flying out of town tonight for a company off-site meeting…in Monaco. Seems like a terrible fate, no? He’ll be back early Sunday afternoon so the 4 girls will be fending for themselves. Whenever I drive his car, I tend to leave it with a junk of trash in my hands…because he basically uses the car for commuting and doesn’t think about throwing out empty cigarette packages and such. I also collected a few plastic bottles from the back seat..and there I noticed elephant. I guess he’s been in there since the last time we drove anywhere with Ayla in that car which was almost a month ago. I just figured he’d been stored away in her toy box and that was that.
So I grabbed elephant on my way out of the car and brought him inside. I think Ayla was even happier to see him than me. She immediately took him from me and started playing with him. He’s not supposed to be an outside elephant…but I guess I can make an exception. We do have a washing machine, after all, and there’s a few of her toys that could use a good scrubbing these days.
I just went outside to snap a picture of elephant…and Ayla grabbed him from me. I guess she fears I might “lose” or forget him again somewhere and she was not so fond of me taking his picture either…or maybe she didn’t want her own taken. 🙂 But I think those two are going to be quite inseparable today.
