Dearest puppy friends,

How the heck are ya?? Did you survive Thanksgiving without getting in trouble for stealing the turkey? Did you get rewarded with lots of tasty treats because you were such a good dog and behaved so well around all the guests?

I have been happily reaping the benefits of lots of leftovers in the house…but I must say I could certainly stand to take in a few more bits of turkey, yams, stuffing, corn, carrots and anything else you want to dispose of. It hasn’t been so easy to keep myself from begging at times; or just downright dreaming up plans to steal all the food in sight. Yesterday, mom was cooking something that had the whole house smelling like turkey. She says it was turkey stock for soup–I say it must be what dog heaven smells like! I thought I was going to lose my mind before the day was over. All I could think about was food…and no one wanted to give me any.

Can you believe that the season of feasting has already begun? Christmas is only a couple weeks away and then comes New Year’s. All these holidays mean I eat very well here, because I either get leftovers in the morning or something special for dinner with the humans. It’s just the best. On Thanksgiving Day I got a parma ham bone to snack on — Score! Thinking about all the yummy food actually has me drooling all over the keyboard already.

What kind of special treats do you get during the holidays? Do you get Christmas presents, too? Don’t you just love this time of year? I even hear that it’s finally going to get cold so maybe we’ll get some of that awesome white snow stuff. Oh boy!

Hope you’re having a great doggie day and recovering well from gorging yourself on Thanksgiving leftovers!

Newfie kisses,

Ayla
