Good morning my doggie friends,
Today I would like to discuss the very serious matter of allowing your dog to be left out of all the fun. As you may have seen yesterday, my family recently went to the Oktoberfest. I heard about the trip and was excited about the new adventure as we drove down to Oma & Opa’s house. But then, once it was time to actually go to the big event, I was left behind. Why you ask? I have no idea. I hear things about dogs not being allowed, but if your best friend (ME) can’t go, do you really want to be at such an event anyway? Do you know what happens when you come home smelling like awesome food, two of my favorite people (Steffen & Steffi) and horses? This is what happens:
I become the saddest puppy in the world. Yes, go ahead and say, “Awwwww. You poor thing, Ayla. How do you ever cope?”
It’s not always easy being the family dog. There are so many things we’d love to be included in but we just aren’t allowed. So please, remember to plan things that we can be included in also. Otherwise we might start getting over excited when we see you, accidently (or even on purpose) break things that belong to you, be extra rough on our stuffies with their liposuction treatment, and otherwise just get unruly because we missed you so much.
Since it’s been so lovely and cool here lately, I’m hoping we’ll do something fun together soon. Maybe a trip to a park or a nice long hike. It won’t be long before it’s really cold here (we might even have our first freeze this weekend–you KNOW I’m sleeping outside for that!) And when it gets cold, we won’t be able to go on long outdoor excursions with the baby because she’s just not old enough yet for those sort of temps. Sure she’ll be bundled up like a little eskimo and won’t even be able to move her clothes because she’s wearing so much clothing but her little nose & fingers won’t be as well protected. Maybe I’ll just have to sit in the stroller with her…
Hope you’re having a great start to fall and here’s wishing you don’t have to go out in the rain every night for a walk in the dark (like I’ve had to the last 3 nights–ICK!)
Sniff ya later!
Ayla
