Hey Anipals!

I’ve been battling an eye infection this week. It started in one eye, green goop coming out of it and my eye itching like crazy. Mom & dad made me sit still while they started poking me in the eye with a little tube. They called the process putting eye drops in but I was certain that they were trying to kill me at first. Now I’m tolerating it with the saddest look I can muster and they’re treating BOTH eyes because the itching and good has migrated. Horrible news for me but at least I didn’t have to see the vet.

In case you haven’t heard, this weekend is the Lantern Festival and I’ve been very busy getting ready. I heard I’m getting a bath tonight (YUCK!) but I’ve also been helping mom clean up, dust and hold the floor in place. Just the other day I was “helping” her remove stuff from on top of the electric fireplace and dust. Don’t worry, it wasn’t turned on – it’s mostly a decorative item in the living room these days. Mom thought I was grabbing stuff that didn’t belong to me, but I swear I was just trying to make her job easier! 😉

And there has been a WHOLE lot of of talk about all the awesome food that is going to be served over the weekend. You have no idea how good it all sounds. Thankfully, mom and dad usually give me some of the leftovers in my regular food just to spice things up. Do you know how boring it is to eat the same dry food and canned meat day after day? I mean a dog has to eat but throw me a bone here, folks! All the food thoughts really get me salivating…and sometimes I even get little bubbles on my tongue. Can you see them? Anyway, I hope I don’t get too exhausted during all the entertaining this weekend. When we have people at the house, I am responsible for making sure everyone has a good time and I cannot go to bed until everyone else is asleep. I fear this is going to be a weekend of very little sleep for me. It’s a rough job, but some dog has to do it. I wear the “hostess with the mostest” badge with honor!
