Howdy dogsters and human folk!

I don’t know if you’ve had the same poor luck as I have, but apparently it’s that time of year again when my hair is falling out all over the place and the humans constantly want to brush me or just pull on my fur. I don’t see what all the fuss is about really. I think the house looks nice with my fur making little tumbleweeds all over the place. I guess they just don’t share the same sense of style.

Sometimes we’ll be out on the walk and the humans will notice some loose fur on me and tell me to stop so they can pull it off. The stuff just comes out in big clumps. You would think there would be a big hole when they’re finished, especially if you see all the fur on the ground – but there’s always plenty more to keep me warm and cozy. Mom attacked me the other day with the brush and had abasketball-sized clump of hair after about 15 minutes. I told her that was plenty of brushing for the time being and she could let me know when she’d started knitted that into a sweater. No more hair for her until she NEEDS it.

I guess it’s not so bad though. I get treats sometimes while they brush me. I also get lots of loving looks and touches while they work on making me beautiful so I really shouldn’t complain so much. Force of habit from my puppy days perhaps.

Hope you’re not being tortured like me and make sure they don’t try to bathe you during all this – it totally accelerates my shedding. My mom has a theory that all the dirt holds my fur on. When I get a bath and it’s washed away, my fur just starts coming off everywhere. And watch out when I shake!

Bark at you later and sloppy Newfie kisses to all!
