I haven’t written much about the nursery or what we’re planning to do in there…so I figured I would post a few links to the furniture, bedding and so on that we’ve picked out from IKEA. Yes, IKEA. Not too original on our behalf but the value for money still can’t be beat. Plus we just like what they have to offer.
The bedding, decor accessories and such are all called Fabler. It’s all got a bit of a fairy tale feel without being overly pink or anything else. There’s frogs in crowns and little bugs flying around. Cute without making us want to hurl. This is one of the crib sheet sets below.
Keeping with about half of the other furniture in our house, Mackenzie’s furniture will also be Leksvik. We can’t help it; we just like the coloring of the wood and it has a bit of a farmhouse style to it that just fits. It’s also real wood which we like and this particular system is very expandable over the next couple of years so it can grow with Mackenzie. For example, the bed below has a removable side railing and the sleeping platform lowers so it can be used while she’s a toddler also.
We still need to figure out which room we’re going to give Mackenzie and if we’re keeping our room, we need to build some closets very soon. But we thankfully have a bit of time until she arrives still so if we can get things worked out soon, we won’t be running around here in the last few weeks finishing tons of things up…I know, takes all the fun out of it, right?
