When I first read that the topic for You Capture this week was peaches, I was a bit stumped. The peaches on our trees won’t be coming around for months and I don’t even recall seeing any in our local market lately. Mangos for $6 each and pineapples for $8 — yes. But not peaches.
At any rate, I almost decided to just blow this off, and then I came across this quote:
Life is a bag of peaches…be the juicy one!
And right then and there, I knew I had to participate!
So I started combing through things in the house, looking for peach. I never actually realized how many things have a naturally peach hue to them, without being peaches!

Now if you’re thinking about that quote, just think about the process one goes through when they buy peaches. You don’t want the peaches that are rock hard, because they’re not yet ripe. But you don’t want the super ripe ones, either, because they tend to be mushy. So you’ve got to become Goldilocks and find the ones that are “just right.” Because those are the ones that are juicy and delicious, with just the right consistency!
This can apply to your life as well as what you do with it, from blogging to photography to being the PTA mom to running your home or business. People want to surround themselves with juicy peaches, because they are the most delicious and perfectly ripe. You don’t want a bunch of hard, rigid people around you which cannot admit when they’re wrong or ask for help even if they’re drowning in projects. And you also don’t want the wishy-washy, spineless folks to lead your team since they’re not going to stand up for themselves or close the deals.

And most other people feel the same way. So always remember to stand up for yourself and stick to your beliefs. Don’t let people talk you out of having what you want…and try not to let the haters get under your skin. But also remember to laugh, enjoy life and not be too tough on those around you or yourself. Be the juicy peach — and surround yourself with other juicy fruits. π

I shot all of these with my 50mm lens with my Quantary +10, +4 & +1 filters on because I haven’t done nearly enough macro shots lately! I’d forgotten what it’s like to get down on the floor with the stuff I’m photographing. π

Love that last photo, Tiffany – beautiful capture!
It’s my favorite too. π
Great captures Tiffany! I was aghast at the amount you have to pay for mangoes. We are close enough to where they are grown that they are available at most of out ethnic markets in Nashville for $1.00 apiece or less. π
Horrifying! About one week of the year, the local chain grocer gets tons of them and they sell for about $0.80 each. So I usually stock up a bit and make mango sorbet, lots of fruit salad and just stretch them out as long as possible in the fridge. But it’s crazy. The rest of the year they are shipping them from Peru or Costa Rica so they cost a fortune. I would so love to live somewhere like Florida again where we could grow our own. I have no doubt that a tree-fresh mango tastes about 1000 times better than what we’ve been getting. Sometimes they even have a soapy taste which I’m sure is from ripening in the box. Yum π
Those shells are gorgeous!!!!!!!
At the risk of sounding like a copy cat, those shells really are gorgeous.
i too love the shells, thanks for sharing…
