There have been some really useful things coming across my screen lately when it comes to planning your garden for spring — which I know will be just around the corner despite this wildly cold spell we are having here in Germany right now. Thinking of spring and seeing the tulips I planted indoors coming up while it’s about 0°F outside is really keeping me going…not to mention all the wonderful sunshine we’ve had with this cold.

Thanks for the cool diagram from Pinterest. Companion planting is something I have ignored for awhile because it seems complicated, but I definitely want to do some studying and this is a handy little charte.
I loved the info in this post- I just got into Pinterest and had to share these lovely photos and ideas. Will be planning my garden soon and the companion diagram is very helpful. Can’t wait, although I’m not as antsy this year with a new baby and the fact that we haven’t really had winter yet- they say it’s coming soon. Guess I should start getting some things planned and started before too long.
Try not to take on too much! We skipped the garden completely when Mack was a baby because I had enough trouble keeping businesses going and the house clean between all the feedings and diaper changes. Thankfully she did let us sleep, though! And when she was a few months old and it was time for planting, I just couldn’t manage to get anything accomplished. This past year was the first year that it really worked with her being nearby and not getting into too much trouble while I gardened 🙂
Besides Pinterest, you might be interested in “planting blog bait” on Tumblr.com, because it’s supposed to be one of the biggest growing social network communities for the Smart Phone addicts. It has an easy-to-use format, that reminds me a little of what MySpace used to be like, but you generally don’t leave comments on a posting. Most of the postings are “photo advertisements” with links to more detailed blogs. I still prefer reading peoples’ blogs, but Tumblr is being pushed as the “new, hip way to social media”. Okay, it’s not really new at all. People are just using all kinds of photos to make cookie-size bits of blogmania.
Oh I don’t think I need another place to “stalk.” 🙂 But Tumblr can be fabulous — and I’m sure Flickr also has a lot of great stuff in it. I enjoy Pinterest because you can file your stuff away to look up later, while also seeing the stuff from others quickly if/when you want to.
